Our Giving Partner The Maui Farm is a farm-based organization that serves women and their families who are experiencing homelessness due to domestic abuse and other hardships. To support these women as they undergo major life transitions, this nonprofit’s unique approach prioritizes a safe sense of community to help rebuild their strength and emotional well-being. The Maui Farm provides robust programs that teach families essential life skills, and hosts job training courses so that survivors can build skills and confidence as they prepare to re-enter the workforce. 

In the summer of 2019, our CEO and Founder, Karissa Bodnar had the opportunity to visit The Maui Farm and sit down with the residents to learn more about their lives and experiences. Atrina, a resident of The Maui Farm shares, “The farm is where I finally connected with a bunch of other women for the first time in my life. The one thing that sticks with me is that I don’t feel like just a mom—I have myself back and I’m confident.”
